The Super Bowl has come and gone. Would it shock you to hear that I do not know who won? If we’re being honest, I’m not even sure who was playing.
I used to kind of like the Super Bowl, because we had these wonderful friends who would invite us over every year to watch the game with them and it was always really nice. I didn’t care about the game, but I did like our friends. Sadly, we moved, and they moved and now it’s too far to visit on Super Bowl Sunday.
Valentine’s Day has also come and gone. The longer I’m married, the more I kind of lose all interest in Valentine’s Day. It was fun at first when there was that novelty factor of actually having a boyfriend and not being single, but it didn’t take long for the novelty to fade. I feel like love and romance is worth celebrating every day, not just when they tell us to. Plus, it makes all the restaurants extra crowded.
If you are single, don’t worry. Valentine’s Day is silly, and you are wonderful just as you are.
Now, President’s Day is actually a holiday I can get behind. It’s so open-ended that you can celebrate in whatever way makes sense to you. I celebrated by going to the UPS store to take care of some returns I’d been putting off and then going to Costco, where dreams come true.
I don’t like to brag, but I bought a really great box of blueberries at Costco. They were large and juicy and flavorful. It kind of reminded me of when we used to go bluberry picking in Michigan when I was a kid. Those were the days.
But, I know why you are all really here, and it’s probably not to hear my thoughts on February holidays. You want to hear about my new book, right? Right?
Well, good news, everyone. I’m pleased to announce that the first round of Hawthorne edits is underway and going wonderfully so far. We’re finding typos, we’re strengthening characters, we’re making sure all plot points are satisfying, and more! We are very close to choosing an official title. I have a front-runner in mind that I think suits the book well, but we’ll see.
I’m not quite ready to announce it yet, but I hope to very soon. It’ll probably go to Instagram and TikTok first, so if you don’t follow me on there, it could be worthwhile! My cat content has been top-notch lately.
In the meantime, let’s hope March’s holidays are more festive than February’s and I’ll hopefully back on here before you know it with a title announcement, cover reveal, and more!
