I’m back with big news for you all! I took a break from blogging for a while to focus on writing. I thought to myself, I could write about writing, or I could actually write the book. And actually writing the book seemed like a better use of my time.

I’m very pleased to say that I have finished the first draft of my next book. I’m still considering different titles, but in my head, I just call it Hawthorne, which also happens to be the name of the protagonist.

Hawthorne is a bit of an untraditional narrator, in that he is a large tabby cat whose giant ego is matched only by his belly. He lives in a neighborhood, convinced he is a king, only to find himself in trouble when the evil HOA declares war on him.

It’s going to be full of lighthearted, hilarious feline fun. And dog lovers, don’t worry! There will be plenty of canine friends for you to fall in love with.

In case you were wondering, Hawthorne was partially inspired by my large tabby cat, Mochi, as well as my parents’ neighborhood cat, Cocoa. (As Hawthorne is fond of pointing out, you cannot own a cat.)

There’s still a lot of work to do to get it ready for you, but I am so excited to get this book out to you. It’s going to be a really fun read.

And now that I’ve finished the hard part, hopefully, I’ll have more time to update you here on how things are going. There should be a title announcement coming soon, plus a cover reveal, as well as an official launch date, so stay tuned for more!

And in the meantime, here is a picture of my cat, Mochi. Isn’t she great?
