Wow. It’s been a long couple weeks. I was sick fairly continuously. If we’re being honest, I still have a lingering cough, but I’m really hoping it goes away without needing to go to the doctor. Nothing against doctors, per se. Just…they’re always looking to find something wrong with you. I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.
It feels really good to feel well enough to do things beside rest on the couch and take naps. I’ve missed writing and doing other writerly things. Not TikTok, though. I don’t miss that.
Somehow, TikTok thinks I want to see videos of girls telling me to quit wearing my cardigan in the normal way and instead to put it on backwards and flip it over my head. That’s fashion for you. I suppose the algorithm got confused because the first time I saw the video I couldn’t help staring at it incredulously…like, really? We’re really supposed to go around with sweaters flipped over our heads and act like we’re doing something cool? Has the world gone mad?
My cousin assures me there’s a way to tell TikTok to quit showing me the sweatertoks, but I don’t know. TikTok seems quite set on it. I hate to disappoint them.
Now, I don’t want to complain, but the weather here has been absolutely abominable lately. If I wanted to live where it was below sixty degrees for days at a time, I’d go up North, where you can expect that kind of weather. I’ve had to wear my big teddy coat for like…five days in a row. It’s getting pretty serious.
Of course, if I’m getting tired of the teddy coat, I could always put it on backwards and flip it over my head. Gotta keep these things fresh, you know. I wouldn’t want to look stupid.
I’m planning to slowly ease back into real life this week. Today, my main goal is laundry, which might seem easy, but it’s not everyone who can do it. Sure, most people can start laundry, and many are even able to switch it from the washer into the dryer, but it can be quite difficult to convince yourself to actually fold it.
I’m also hoping to resume posting Fiercest Chicken and get a definite release date for Somewhat Alive. And of course, I want to keep writing Hawthorne and Somewhat Unreal.
If the weather ever warms up, I may even slowly start exercising again, assuming my wimpy lungs are up for it. We’ll see.
