Well, it’s been a busy week for me. I’ve made a lot of progress on some things and made very little progress on others. The Fiercest Chicken in the Bookstore is currently up on Kindle Vella, at least the first five episodes. I also updated my website and my social medias to reflect that.

I figured out how to make a TikTok and posted it as both a TikTok and a Reel, why not. It’s certainly not going viral, by any means, but it is out there and I learned a lot making it, which is the main thing. I’ve known for awhile now that new authors really need to be on BookTok, so now I feel like I have a path forward there.

I also made progress on getting my cover designed for Somewhat Alive. I got an email yesterday and they said they should have the first look ready to show me in about a week, which is pretty nice turnaround. It’ll be nice to have an actual book out there and not just Kindle Vellas.

Although my Kindle Vellas are doing quite well, of course.

I also set up a spreadsheet to keep track of expenses vs earnings for my writing career. I probably should have had it going sooner, but I started spending money long before I started making any back, so it didn’t seem as necessary early on. But it’s good to know if I’m making money or losing money. Sometimes a little of both.

Tonight, we are going to the Spooktacular at the zoo. I’m going as a hideous creature of the night—the butterfly. If you see me, run! I’ll be terrifying and I might even flutter at you. You don’t want that.

November is shaping up to be completely crazy with lots of traveling and appointments and so on. I always kind of like it when I reach a new month and my calendar is mostly empty. Of course, some of the things coming up in November are things I really want to do, but others are things I’d rather not do. I guess it’s often like that in life. There’s only some of the must dos that you really want to do.

It feels weird to me that it’s still Halloween time. Somehow, I’ve felt done with spooky season ever since we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party last month. Yet, here we are still. Halloweening.

Also, I watched Hocus Pocus 2, even though I thought it’d probably be awful, because most sequels that are made 29 years later just aren’t that good, but I thought it was a lot better than expected. It wasn’t a good movie, per se, but it was highly entertaining and amusing.

Someday, maybe I’ll get a review for one of my books, and it’ll be like, it wasn’t a good book, per se, but it was entertaining and amusing. I don’t think I’d mind.
