It feels like August is going by really fast. I don’t exactly know why. Time has felt off ever since 2020, if we’re being honest. Sometimes it feels like it passes too slowly, and sometimes it feels like it passes too quickly. It never seems to pass at the appropriate rate, like it used to.

The rest of 2022 is already quite full, at least for us. We’ve got Lord of the Rings Day, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the Spooktacular, a wedding, a cruise, plus Thanksgiving and Christmas have to be fit in somehow. We’re swamped!

At least, for the most part, everything coming up is fun things. We’ll see.

It’s a busy season, but I’m determined to continue to make writing a priority. I got the Kindle Vella bonus in for July, and it was significantly more than June’s bonus, which I was already happy with. That means I need something finished and ready to post to Kindle Vella once I finish posting all of Somewhat Alive. Which is going to happen probably sooner rather than later, since I only have four more episodes to go.

The Fiercest Chicken in the Bookstore is probably the closest to being ready, although it still needs to pass through several of my beta readers/editors. It’s the sort of book that is fun to read, but it’s very fluffy. Sometimes I like that sort of book, though. The world could use a little more fluffiness.

I suppose it’s fairly common for authors to have multiple books they are working on. And for authors to start writing a new book before finishing several of their old ones. It’s always tempting to start a new book, but there is something extremely satisfying about completely finishing a book all the way from the first draft to the final round of edits until it’s polished and ready to be read.
