Big news, everybody. I’ve decided to go ahead and release Somewhat Alive on Kindle Vella! I spent some time researching the platform and I think it’s a really good fit for my writing style. I need a cover picture for my book, and I also probably should revamp my website to feature Somewhat Alive more prominently, especially on the home page.

I hope people will read my book on Kindle Vella. And I hope they will like it.

It feels amazing to be taking actual steps toward getting my book out there and not just sitting around waiting, hoping maybe someday someone will decide my work has value.

Also, I don’t like to brag, but my blog now officially has one reader! And to that reader, I just want to say thank you. I appreciate knowing my thoughts are interesting enough to keep your attention! In recognition of my loyal reader, I’d like to offer you this original bit of poetry.

Help me clean up, I asked the cat.

Oh, no, she said, I don’t do that.

She licked her paws and looked so smug

I rolled my eyes and cleaned the rug

Help me fold clothes, I asked the cat

Oh, no, she said, I don’t do that.

She curled upon my clean clothes stack

Getting white fur all over my blacks

I’m happy to help, the cat told me

As I ate my donut enthusiastically

No thanks, I replied, I can manage it well

Then she swiped and she grinned, as my donut fell

And she ate it and smirked like a satisfied cat

And she said, by the way, I do things like that.
