Bad news, everyone—I’m starting to get tired of Christmas songs and it’s only halfway through December. I don’t play Christmas songs exclusively throughout the month. I refuse to play any Christmas songs before Thanksgiving and afterward, I try to mix Christmas songs in with my usual music, but I think my ratios must be off this year.
I’m starting to feel like Grinchy Jim Carrey. Blast this Christmas music! It’s joyful and triumphant!
January is coming, though. There’s always something that feels so good about January. It’s not that cold, because I live in Florida, so the weather doesn’t bother me. Something about getting back into our normal routines mixed with a fresh start because it’s a New Year…it feels good.
Also, I read on the Internet today that if you drink 42 cups of coffee at once, then it will kill you, but it’s okay because I’ve only had four. I’m probably to need another, if I want to get anything useful done this afternoon. Although, if I decide to goof off, I can do that without extra coffee. I’m skilled like that.
Sometimes I can write without extra coffee, too. It’s really only the mundane tasks that I really don’t want to do that require extra coffee. (You don’t want to know how long the current load of laundry has been sitting in the dryer. #NotEnoughCoffeeInTheWorld)
I got a pedicure today and now my toes are beautiful. It’s a sparkly blue color called Do You Sea What I Sea. I like it because it works for Christmas and for cruising. I also went to Starbucks today and got an Oatmilk Sugar Cookie Latte, which is my current favorite drink at Starbucks. Sometimes I even go all out and get extra sprinkles. Tis the season, after all.
But now, after a fairly unproductive morning, it’s time to get to work and get something done. Maybe writing, maybe wrapping, maybe practicing bass, maybe starting dinner, or maybe even playing tennis. Really, anything besides folding the laundry. I’ll do many things this afternoon, but I won’t do that.
