I’m glad it’s finally November. Halloween was fun and all, but I’m kinda done with it. Except of course for the heaps of candy laying around my house. We got a fair amount of candy at the Spooktacular at the zoo, and then my kids collected so much candy while trick or treating around the neighborhood, plus we bought too much to hand out to kids trick or treating at our house.
We’ve got a lot of candy now. Didn’t really need any, but that’s okay. We’ve got it anyway.
I’m not one of those people who likes to start Christmas the second Halloween is over. In fact, I get a tad bit annoyed when people try to start Christmas before Halloween is even over.
You can’t make things jolly when they are supposed to be spooky. You just can’t.
Have we learned nothing from Nightmare Before Christmas? Holidays colliding is not good. Halloween is good and Christmas is good. But they should not be mixed together. The Pumpkin King cannot be Sandy Claws. And Christmas cannot be creepy. It just doesn’t work.
There’s been a lot of things I’ve been waiting on that should be happening in November. And I really don’t like waiting, so it’ll be good to get them all done.
I’ve pretty much decided not to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. It looks like Dabble isn’t offering their 50% coupon for winners, so the pressure is off there. I’ll just have to pay more when my old coupon expires or write in Word like a normal person. Either way, I suppose.
I really do want to finish up the Fiercest Chicken as soon as possible. 25000 words go by pretty quick when you know exactly what needs to happen. If anything it will be in danger of ending up too long. But that’s okay. I can always delete stuff later. It’s easier to cut parts that you can do without than to struggle to add things that you really don’t need.
And at least it’s finally November. No more waiting around for it.
