I know it’s cliché, but I am so happy it’s Friday! School is so hard. It was hard back in the day when I went to school and I think somehow it’s even worse now, sending my kids off to school. Why does middle school have to start so early?

After all, middle school is not a fun time in anyone’s life. Except maybe for super popular people. They may have been having a grand time in middle school. I wouldn’t know. And if we’re being honest, if you’re reading my blog, you probably don’t know either. (Statistically speaking. If you were popular in middle school, do let me know how it was. For science.)

And on top of everything else awful about the middle school years, we must inexplicably start school at seven in the morning and walk around sleep deprived for three years? It makes no sense. Just start school at nine. It’d be fine. I promise.

I suppose the early start time doesn’t bother everyone. Personally, I get grumpy unless I get a full ten hours. I’ve always been envious of morning people who jump out of bed cheerfully. Imagine getting up before the sun and having some quiet time for reflection and maybe doing some yoga as the sun rises and preparing for your day flawlessly. I wouldn’t know about that either.

But I am very glad it’s Friday. At my house, most Fridays we have Family Film night. It’s pretty fun. We pick out a movie we all want to see and I usually plan a fun themed dinner. Everyone looks forward to it.

Tonight we’re watching Black Widow, because it’s finally free on Disney+. I never pay for Premier Access. That’d just encourage them. Disney already gets too much of my money. I’m a passholder, you know. But it’s not like Disney doesn’t appreciate me. Every six months or so, they give me a free magnet.

At any rate, my spiderweb brownies are about done and the whole house smells like chocolate and tonight we’re watching a movie and tomorrow I’m going to have finally gotten enough sleep for the first time since last weekend. I love Fridays.
