Coming Somewhat Soon

It’s been a while since I’ve written here but for a very good reason! I’m pleased to announce that Somewhat Unreal will be making its debut this month! I’ll be announcing the exact release date shortly, but for now, know that it’s coming in mid-May and it’s going to be fabulous. I can’t wait for you all to experience the next Bookland adventure. We’ll dive into Ava’s world, where things aren’t exactly as they seem. I’ve also tossed in some grumpy/sunshine romance, and of course, there will be zombies!

I can’t wait to launch it. Definitely keep an eye on my social media, where I’ll be revealing the cover and giving out more details. I’m on Instagram and TikTok, assuming TikTok is not banned. I haven’t been keeping up with the TikTok ban drama, but I still have the app on my phone, so I’m going to assume it’s not entirely banned.

I’m very pleased to have made it past the misery of winter. I usually do a good job of avoiding winter woes like snow, ice, etc. But this year, I had the sad misfortune of experiencing two blizzards. I left Florida twice since January and both times, blizzards! Not just little flurries, but like, schools closed, roads closed, please stay home type storms. Bad luck, I guess.

I mean, I suppose if you go to Vermont in April, you sort of intellectually know that it might be sweater weather, but I wasn’t expecting a blizzard. And the same for Tennessee in January. Like, yes, it’s winter, but did it have to snowstorm while we were there?

We didn’t die, though, so that’s good, although there was a tense moment on a hilly, curvy Tennessee backroad where I wasn’t sure we’d make it.

But now, we can put winter safely behind us. I love waking up every day and knowing it’ll be warm.

My cats also appreciate the warmer weather. They like to spend the afternoon napping in the sun. (Indoors, of course.) We recently acquired a new cat tree from Costco. As you’d expect from Costco, the cat tree is huge but well-made. Interestingly, only the little cat uses it. I don’t know if the big cat feels she is over the weight limit or if she’s shunning it because she only loves what she finds for herself. Maybe a little bit of both.

But the little cat climbs all over it and likes to sit on a high ledge so that she’s about at eye level with us. Sometimes she’ll just take a wild jump off from up high and go running across the room. Youth and high spirits, time will take care of that.

It just so happens that the cats have informed me that it is lunchtime and if I don’t feed them now, they will have to kill me, so I will sign off wishing you all warm weather and sunshine.
